Today, at WJS, we celebrated upcoming King’s Coronation.

The children arrived wearing all shades of red, white and blue and made artefacts for our ‘Coronation museum’. Every class did a range of activities, learnt about how life in Britain has changed since 1953 and all the history behind the ceremony.

At lunchtime the children enjoyed ‘Coronation chicken’ and ‘King Charles III Sponge’

In year 3, they designed  coronation coasters to use at lunchtime and planned a sandwich fit for a king! The children tried a range of breads from around the world and some of the children even chose fillings to reflect the red, white and, more unusually, the blue!
