Year 6 Residential
Every year, we take our Year 6 children on a residential stay. As a school, we feel this is a great way for them to experience new things, develop some independence, try their hand at a variety of activities and both staff and children have a lot of fun!
The residential trip takes place at Hooke Court Education Centre, Dorset. We have used this centre for several years now and are familiar with the staff and activities.
If you would like to find out more information about Hooke Court, you can visit their website: https://www.hookecourt.co.uk/
Over the years the children have enjoyed shelter building, talent shows, barn-dancing, team-building games, bridge building, obstacle courses, orienteering, woodland walks, scavenging, cooking, campfires and of course mid-night feasts!
The children will sleep in bunk-bedded dormitories and will choose who they share a room with. A teacher from WJS will be on call at all times.
The cost for the trip will be confirmed at a later date but will cover travel to and from Hooke Court, a 3-day/ 2-night stay and all meals apart from lunch on the first day.
We want every child at WJS to take part so if you have any financial concerns or other issues then do come in to school and speak to a teacher so we can accommodate these needs.
