Design & Technology Curriculum
Design and Technology at Our School
Design and Technology is an exciting and practical subject at our school, where children are encouraged to be creative, curious and innovative. We follow the Design and Technology Association’s Projects on a Page, which provides a clear and structured approach to developing pupils’ design and making skills.
Through a range of engaging projects, pupils learn to research, design, make and evaluate purposeful products. They explore different materials, tools and techniques, developing their practical skills alongside their understanding of how things work.
Children are encouraged to think creatively, solve problems and make thoughtful design decisions. As they progress through the school, they build on their knowledge and skills, becoming increasingly confident in designing and creating their own products.
We aim to inspire children to become imaginative and resourceful designers and makers, equipping them with practical skills and a positive attitude towards creativity, problem-solving and innovation.
