The Westbury Junior School Prayer

Our School Prayer

Our school prayer is an important part of the spiritual life of Westbury Junior School and brings together our Christian vision and core values of Respect, Care and Inspire.

Written by our own Prayer Council, the prayer reflects what is important to our school community: being thankful for those who care for us, recognising the people who inspire us to be our best and remembering the importance of treating others with kindness and respect. It concludes with our school vision, encouraging us to “Let my light shine a path for others to follow.”

We share our school prayer regularly during assemblies and acts of collective worship. This provides an opportunity for our school community to pause, reflect and consider how we can demonstrate our values in our everyday lives.

The prayer reminds us that each of us has the potential to make a positive difference. Through Respect, we value and show kindness towards others. Through Care, we recognise the importance of supporting those around us. Through Inspire, we encourage one another to be the very best that we can be.

Our school prayer is therefore more than words that we share together; it reflects the way we strive to live as a school community. It reminds us to be thankful, to care for one another and to use our own unique gifts and strengths to make a positive difference.

As we gather together in worship, our prayer encourages every member of our school community to live out our Christian vision and to confidently “Let your light shine.”

Our School Prayer

Dear Lord,

Thank you to all who cared for me today.

For those who inspire me to be my best,

And those who help me treat others with kindness and respect.

Let my light shine a path for others to follow.

Amen.
