Christian Community Support

At Westbury Church of England Junior School, our Christian vision is at the heart of school life:

We recognise that family life can bring times of joy as well as periods of challenge, change or uncertainty. Our school, local churches and community organisations are available to offer friendship, prayer, practical help and a listening ear.

You do not need to be a regular churchgoer to access this support. Everyone is welcome.

Tea and Toast

Parents and carers are warmly invited to our weekly Tea and Toast gathering.

When: Every Monday, 8.30-10.00am
Where: Westbury Juniors Family Hub
Led by: Rev Tracey

Tea and Toast provides an informal and welcoming opportunity to:

  • Meet other parents and carers.

  • Enjoy tea, toast and conversation.

  • Speak with Rev Tracey.

  • Ask for prayer or pastoral support.

  • Find out about local church and community services.

  • Take some time to pause during a busy week.

There is no need to book—please come along when you are able. Contact the school for the latest session times.

Daily Prayer

The Church of England provides Daily Prayer services that can be read or listened to at home. These short services include Bible readings, reflections and prayers for morning, evening and night.

Families may use these resources together or individually as a peaceful way to begin or end the day.

Our Local Church

All Saints’ Church, Westbury is part of the White Horse Team Ministry and offers worship, prayer, friendship and pastoral support to people throughout the local community.

The church welcomes individuals and families who would like to:

  • Attend a church service or special celebration.

  • Explore the Christian faith.

  • Request prayer or pastoral support.

  • Discuss baptisms, weddings or funerals.

  • Take part in activities for children, families and the wider community.

Mothers’ Union at All Saints’ Church

The Mothers’ Union is a Christian organisation that supports family life through prayer, practical action and community work. Membership and support are not limited to mothers; parents, carers, grandparents, men and women are welcome.

Crosspoint Westbury

Crosspoint is a local Christian charity offering confidential help and support to people in the Westbury community. Its volunteers can provide a listening ear, information, practical assistance and signposting to specialist services. Support can include help with benefits, housing, debt, counselling and other difficulties affecting individuals and families.

Westbury Area Churches Together brings local churches together for shared worship, community projects and activities across Westbury and Dilton Marsh.

Spurgeons Family Hubs

Spurgeons is a Christian charity working with Wiltshire Council to provide Family Hub support for children, young people and their families. Support may include parenting guidance, emotional wellbeing, family relationships, SEND and access to local services.

Westbury Area Network

Westbury Area Network provides practical support through its Food Bank and Community Fridge. The Food Bank supplies emergency food parcels following a referral from organisations including schools, churches, Crosspoint and Wiltshire Council. The Community Fridge redistributes surplus food and is available to members of the community.

Asking the School for Support

If your family is experiencing a difficult time, please speak to a member of the school team. We will listen without judgement and, where appropriate, help you make contact with suitable church, charitable or professional support.

Families may contact:

  • Their child’s class teacher.

  • The school office.

  • The Family Hub team.

  • The school’s pastoral or SEND team.

  • Rev Tracey during Tea and Toast.

You may also ask us to pray for you or your family. Prayer requests will be treated sensitively and respectfully.
