Home Learning
Home Learning is an important part of our children’s education and provides a valuable link between home and school. It gives children the opportunity to practise and consolidate key skills, while also allowing parents and carers to play an active role in supporting their child’s learning.
We encourage all children to read at home four times each week, helping them to develop their fluency, vocabulary and love of reading.
Children should also practise their times tables four times each week, using both Times Table Rock Stars and their Times Table books. Regular practice helps children to build confidence and develop the fluency they need to succeed in mathematics.
Alongside these key activities, children are invited to complete Creative Challenges linked to their learning from the previous term. These challenges provide an opportunity for children to be creative, apply their knowledge in different ways and share their learning with others.
At the end of each term, children have the opportunity to celebrate their Creative Challenges during our Fabulous Finish events, where we recognise and celebrate the effort, creativity and enthusiasm they have shown in their Home Learning.
